Let’s stop Hiding Computer game gurus have come up with special features for games including a feature called the “Boss Key.” So if you are playing a game when you are supposed to be working, and someone (like the boss) walks into your office, you quickly strike the Boss Key and your computer screen changes immediately hiding what you’ve been doing. Hiding is almost second to nature especially when caught on the wrong. Someone once said that confession is the key that opens the door to forgiveness, how true! It is a natural reaction for human beings to hide when they have sinned rather than confessing. Even from time in memorial, Adam and Eve hid after they had sinned against God. The interesting thing is we may feel guilty about being on the wrong, but our desire to avoid admitting our responsibility is often stronger than our guilt. Today, let’s change our norm; in 1st John we are encouraged to confess our sins as God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Therefore, if we have been disobedient, it’s time to come out of hiding because God is lovingly calling us and offering His cleansing, forgiveness and restoration. Prayer: Lord, help me to come to You when I would rather hide my sin, give me the courage to confess so I can be made clean.
