Leviticus 17 teaches us the life is in the blood. Instead of scoffing at that notion as primitive, lets elevate it with New Covenant insight. Jesus life is in His blood. When we spiritually and symbolically drink His blood during communion, we are affirming by faith that His divine life fills our souls and bodies with His nature of goodness. He that... drinketh my blood , dwelleth in me , and I in him. John 6:56. To plead the blood of Jesus is merely us declaring and dispersing His life into and over a situation by applying our faith toward it. Here is where we have it wrong in our thinking. His blood is NOT about His death, but about His life-- according to the power of HIS indestructible life. Hebrews 7:16. Jesus came to give us HIS life, HIS faith, HIS power, HIS love, and HIS relationship with His Father. Galatians 2:20. Theologians call these virtues the PROPASSIONS of Jesus, His very divine nature from which we are to continually partake. 2 Peter 1:3-5. Isnt this awesome? Drink up!
