Le’aufa’amulia Asenati Lole-Taylor Spokesperson for Pacific Island Affairs April 16, 2014 IMPORTANT WORK FOR NEW PACIFIC ADVISORY GROUP New Zealand First’s Spokesperson for Pacific Island Affairs Le’aufa’amulia Asenati Lole-Taylor has congratulated new members on their election to the Wellington City Council’s Pacific Advisory Group. “I am very pleased to see a diverse group of respected leaders who will form the new Pacific Advisory Group in Wellington. They have an important job ahead of them and I want to wish them all the best as they work to uplift Pasifika communities,” says Mrs Lole-Taylor. “They have a great opportunity to make the Pasifika voice heard at a local governance level. “I would like to acknowledge the Wellington City Council for their recognition of the Pacific people by establishing this advisory panel. “Currently the members include seven candidates from the Cook Islands, Fijian and Samoan communities, as well as two Tongan representatives and one from Tokelau. More members will be added to represent the Niue and Tuvalu communities. “I encourage them to work in the best interests of all Pacific Islanders in New Zealand, and to preserve the integrity of this community leadership role,” says Mrs Lole-Taylor.
