Liechtenstein is the 219th largest country in the world. The tiny - TopicsExpress

Liechtenstein is the 219th largest country in the world. The tiny principality is home to 37,000 people. Covering less than 160 square km, it is twice Manhattans area, but with only 500 people per square km compared to Manhattans 70,000. Its small population means it is quite easy to access those in power, especially because of Liechtensteiners legendary hospitality. In fact each year His Serene Highness Prince Hans-Adam II invites his subjects to the castle for a beer day in the garden. Its actually a national holiday and almost every citizen attends the giant party (still smaller than a Springsteen concert). In 2011 a local entrepreneur got the bright idea to show off the local hospitality by renting out the entire country on the rental website Airbnb for $70,000. The idea was that guests would have free access to all homes, facilities and services in the country at that price. So far, no takers. Seems pretty cheap for renting out an entire nation, really. I wonder what the maximum occupancy is.
