Life goes on, on the border. But there is another side of this - TopicsExpress

Life goes on, on the border. But there is another side of this border. I am sharing this with you all NOT so it can turn into a political discussion but for a humanitarian perspective. I cried when i read this. Where are Hamas , the ones whom they said throughout the war, were protecting them? What do they expect the Israelis to do for them that the Hamas isnt doing? (Organize all the unemployed into work forces for rebuilding?) And if the Hamas are so impotent now, why arent the people of Gaza evicting them from power and empowering leaders who can rebuild Gaza (as opposed to the Gazan arsenal, which we hear is being rebuilt steadily). Why arent they demanding that Hamas rebuild residences rather than rockets? These are the questions that come to my western mind, as i pity these poor people, while i know that in my community, which was hit by Hamas rockets, all the physical signs of the violence have been cleared up, reconstructed (aside, of course, from the loss of lives and limbs, which are irreversible). What help do they need so they can cease being victims of war and we can all begin being victors of peace?
