I finished my 7 day long jury duty yesterday. I served on a criminal trial that involved money laundering and mail/wire fraud. I along with the other jurors found the defendant guilty on 14/17 counts. This defendant could face up to 15-20 years in prison. The "guilty" decision was not an easy one to make. Me and the other jurors spent 7 hours in the deliberation room looking over our notes and all of the evidence provided before making a united decision on all of the counts. I hafta admit that I did leave the court house with a heavy heart because I had a hand in putting a person in jail. Do not get me wrong, I stand by my verdict/decision and feel that it was right based on the evidence provided. I received this over my email today and it made me feel a little better about the situation. This person defrauded and hurt so many people and now she is payin for it. Sucha strong message...
