Life is just hilarious!!! Yaani, how you start the year does define how the year goes. It seems I just keep dodging curve balls so far this January. And it gets even more fun, now I am researching on tips on how to be the perfect fake girlfriend in rehearsal for a dinner invite to meet the parents (the things we do for friends). I was tricked! I went to hang out with a friend over lunch this weekend then found myself in the middle of a whole family of people. The parents liked me, and my friend decides to lie that Im the chic they keep blabbering about. Problem is, there is the Real girlfriend and then there is me. Mind you I would not even have known I was a pretend girlfriend if I had not asked why the parents were inviting me over for dinner. Then my dear friend tells me over the phone, you made quite an impression on them. They barely noticed your eccentricity. And to be fair, you ruined it for my gf, why were you so charming? Are you serious right now? Why the hell did you lie that I was your girlfriend? And you couldnt even tell me and would have continued to drag me along had I not asked you today... I am not coming to dinner for zilch! Ask your real girlfriend and make it right! I said chocking with bile at my friends unapologetic stand on the matter. I do not know what went down after I ended that call, all I know is that my friends mother called with some weird story about knowing I was planning to end things with my friend and begging that I do dinner at least with them as we try to hush things out. I told her the truth, there is nothing between us and I wasnt the real girlfriend but a lie someone told because they felt they would get approval. Then she says the weirdest thing of all, Of course I know that dear, dont you think I have seen the type of girls this one hangs around and brings about? We were just surprised that we had not met you before because you are not the usual type were used to. Now I like you even more for being honest. So can you do us a favour and show up for dinner as the girlfriend please...(I said yes) Okay, this is what were going to do.... And thus, we hatched a plan to get back at my friend for pulling a dirty one on me and the parents. My friend knows I am going for the dinner because the mom convinced me not to end our relationship but Im about to turn this curve ball around. Really looking forward to the dinner, I cant help feeling excited about it. My friend will never see it coming but I bet this will be the last someone tries to pull such a prank on me. *whistles gleefully going about business* #OfCurveBallsAndVengeance #CoolMomThings #ThatsWhatFriendsAreFor
