Life is really hard. Life is really scary. You only get so many days, so many hours, so many moments. You only get one family. Fortunately, some of us are able to meet that someone and are able to gain another family…. and some of us are able to choose friends whom compliment us and our lifestyle. Relationships are so crazy. You put all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind…. you commit your money, your sanity, your entire wellbeing to this person… complete trust…. not knowing what will happen in the next day, the next month, the next year…. much less fifty years or sixty.. or seventy from now. Thirteen years ago, on this evening, thousands of families went to bed. Im sure they were all dealing with things… but they had each other. Hundreds of millions of Americans went to bed feeling safe, comfortable, secure, free…. not knowing…. not expecting…. not even thinking about the tragic events that would grip our nation twelve hours later. Who could have predicted two planes to hit The World Trade Center? Who could have predicted that some madmen would fly a plane into the Pentagon…. or that a plane would crash land in a field in Western Pennsylvania. Im maybe not the best person to offer advice on anything…. most of all relationships…. but it occurs to me…. spend your time wisely. Spend your time with people that make time for you…. spend your time with people that care for you, respect you, love you and cherish you. Tell the people around you that you love them. Every day. I remember. I remember exactly where I was sitting- at Cendant Mortgage, 3000 Leadenhall Road, Mt Laurel New Jersey- in Bishops Gate - on the second floor- in the Asset Securitization wing…. the moment those planes hit. God please bless those families. Bless their friends… bless all the people affected by 09/11/2001.
