Life seemed different before this iconic date. I remember exactly where I was when I heard, and for the next several hours I sat in front of a tv screen like millions of other in a state of shock, although 3000 miles away from the scene of this awful happening. The following day, I saw two American tourists in my town, they looked sad and a little dazed. I went up to them and said how sorry I was, and told them to stay strong. It was the least thing anyone could have done for them, it was so personal to them. 9/11 should have been a lesson for us all in the West, but lately, I am beginning to think some people have short memories. We must never forget what happened, or the people whose lives were taken way that day.
