Life with Zeus became pretty mundane after he clowned around at the demonstration. His aggressive episodes were pretty much a thing of the past. Once in a rare while, one of the dogs, usually Spanky, would trigger Zeus aggression. One time the two were passing each other on the back porch when Zeus leaned over and latched onto Spanky with his teeth. The porch is a small area make smaller by trash cans of dog food. As my luck would have it, Zeus was without his collar. I told Zeus, calmly and assertively, No!. Surprisingly enough, Zeus let go. Another incident involving Spanky happend about a year and a half ago. Zeus was standing in front of his crate wanting inside of it. Since its not about what the dog wants, but what I want, I made Zeus move away from the crate, This didnt set well with Zeus at all. He looked out my doorway only to see Spanky looking back at him. I knew without a doubt Zeus was headed to start a fight with Spanky. Unfortunately, I wasnt able to redirect either one. Zeus jauntily walked from my room into the dining room, bumped Spankys shoulder with his shoulder, and the fight was on. I got in the dining room to break it up and realized, there wasnt anything readily available. The only portable item in two rooms was a flexible cat tunnel. Surely not. I gave it a shot and popped Zeus on his mouth. Astonishingly enough, Zeus let go of Spanky. When he did, he snapped his head up towards me as if to bite. I waved the cat tunnel at him convincing him to leave the room. I was relieved Zeus left the room. If hed continued coming after me, Id of put the cat tunnel down over his head. For the most part, my past tales of Zeus are finished. He pretty much lives an ordinary, uneventful life. He still tries me, but only rarely. Thankfully, there will be present day tales of Zeus to share.
