Lights are set, performers are teched! dancers pumped, props - TopicsExpress

Lights are set, performers are teched! dancers pumped, props propped and costumes fluffed! I think I got about 3 hours sleep last night which is ABSOLUTELY FINE! I try not t get too excited about things before they are actually happening. As a little dear of mine tells me expectation is the route to unhappiness (for the record the little dear is Plum Blond not my penis). However I am excited for the show tomorrow. Three of the family and a debut I have been waiting for for AGES! Then next week I start prepping for a whole host of exciting events over the next few months with some amazing people. Halloween falls (some might say rather too conveniently) on the traditional gaelic celebration of Samhein that marked the end of harvest. it was a time for taking stock and preparing for the winter. We enter the darker half of the year. I took the following extract from wiki to give a bit of context: Samhain was seen as a liminal time, when the spirits or fairies (Aos Si) could more easily come into our world. Most scholars see the Aos Sí as remnants of the pagan gods and nature spirits. It was believed that the Aos Sí needed to be propitiated to ensure that the people and their livestock survived the winter. Offerings of food and drink were left for them. The souls of the dead were also thought to revisit their homes. Feasts were had, at which the souls of dead kin were beckoned to attend and a place set at the table for them. For many contemporary pagans the 31st of October is a significant and even somber affair. I may not see many of my pagan friends on friday so I wish you a blessed night. Although I am an insufferable atheist I quite like embracing rituals that allow me to think about stuff, especially when linked to seasonal and planetary cycles. Even for a non believer like me there is something bigger in those moments. Dont get me wrong I am planning on having an absolute ball! but Ive found 2014 a hard year. Friends and family seem have been going through a lot. I have been on a mood swing rollercoaster since finishing my research and I didnt have the chance to say goodbye to two amazing women in my life. I will be setting a place for them at our feast on friday, and I would love to hear about who you will be making room for...perhaps after the show though as I tend to be right busy till then :) One of the reasons we chose CHA CHA BOUDOIR: COVEN as a halloween theme was because a coven is a community that comes together to do Magic. Thats kind of what Cha Cha Boudoir is to me. I know I can be quite serious (also bossy) at times. Thanks for humoring me...and sometimes even enjoying the ride. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful coven in my life. Blessed be! x x x
