Like PCT? Like theatre in general? The Northwest Indiana Excellence in Theatre Foundation (NIETF), one of several groups with which PCT is affiliated, is seeking viewers for the upcoming 2013-2014 theatrical season. What is a viewer? Viewers are both patrons and participants in community theatre who offer objective opinions and reviews of productions throughout Northwest Indiana. Viewers are volunteers who are trusted to evaluate performances and technical elements of theatre, who ultimately make the nominations for recognition during the annual NIETF Awards Gala. Viewers can elect to watch and evaluate either plays, musicals, or both, and commit to seeing at least 75% of the shows produced in NIETF member theatres. It is a large time commitment, bit those who have done it in the past are often quick to note that it is rewarding, a great way to take in a variety of theatrical productions in several different venues, and a good way to meet new friends who share your interest in supporting the arts. In exchange for their diligence and commitment, viewers are often given a complimentary ticket to the productions, or discounted rates if complimentary tickets are not available.
