Like many non-profits, Facebook is where a majority of our traffic and exposure comes from, so this is a pretty big obstacle to our mission of being an influential social change media outlet. There are still ways we can circumvent this though. To succeed, were going to need the help of our 210k strong community. So that means you, and as many other people that would like to join in. Basically likes have become the new voltage of our broadcast tower. The more likes each post gets, the farther the message is broadcast. Each like boosts the signal a little more. So likes effectively act as soft shares now. Our hope is to create a FB culture where everyone is actively and frequently liking everything in their feed that looks like its worth getting a broadcast boost, even if we dont have time to review the content. If it looks good, we can help push it farther out into the digital commons for more people to see.
