Linda Barnard: “The award is named for the late broadcaster and Toronto Star film critic and is given to Canadians ‘whose work has in some way enriched the understanding and appreciation of film in their native country.’ Past recipients include Norman Jewison, Elwy Yost and Kay Armatage.” TFCA president Brian D.
