Linda M . Scarborough, Hanover County Public Schools communications specialist, released the following: Mid-Term Examination Information 1. Mid-term examinations are optional for middle and high school students. a. This option applies to all 8th grade students. b. This option applies to any 6th, 7th or 8th grade students taking a high school credit class (World Language, Algebra I or II, Geometry.) c. All 6th and 7th grade students are required to take their semester tests. 2. High School students who opt to take mid-term exams must turn in the High School Exam Request Forms to the front office on Monday, but no later than 8:30 on Tuesday. Forms can be found at each school’s website and will be sent home with students on Monday. 3. Middle School Students who opt to take mid-term exams must notify their teacher. 4. If a student takes the exam, he/she will have to complete it by Friday, Jan. 31. 5. Each school will work out a schedule to administer exams and communicate information to parents and students. 6. Monday, Jan. 27, marks the beginning of the Second semester. School will run on a normal A day schedule. 7. First semester report cards will be distributed on Friday, Feb. 7. 8. There will be no early release for students who complete exams early, as the school days are full days 9. Any specific questions should be directed to your students’ school.
