Linda has a question: Can you ask the other owner operators what health insurance they have? (My husband) is on cobra from his previous company driver job. Im on medicare due to disability. His company doesnt offer health insurance. *********************************************************************************************** I know that OOIDA offers health insurance - its brokered through them, but I dont know much about it. We have opted to do a healthcare savings plan, as the insurances available through the current gubmint fiasco are all more expensive than we can fit into the budget. (And by that I mean the deductibles are so astronomical it wouldnt do us much good to have it and the cost would prohibit us from going to the doctor at all if we needed to.) Let us know if youve found good, affordable coverage without a deductible thats so high, youd have to be sick all year to meet it.
