Linked below is a post the BCSPCA shared a couple days ago regarding spaying and neutering your pet. Theres some great information about what the procedure entails, cost factors, personality changes, etc. Some of the only differences between our practice and what the article outlines is that we dont typically perform the surgery before 5 months of age. Compared to the SPCA whom will have the surgery done as early as 8 weeks of age to allow the pet to be adopted out ASAP. We always provide all pets with post surgery pain medication and may even send some home based on a number of factors and all spays and dog neuters are maintained intravenously on fluids. :)
