"LinkedIn customers are getting revenge for that embarrassing (and they say, easy-to-miss) unchecked box that sends invites to all of your email contacts. LinkedIn customers filed a lawsuit last week against the company, alleging the LinkedIn hacked into their email address books and downloaded their contacts in a marketing tactic. The lawsuit alleges that LinkedIn’s “own website contains hundreds of complaints regarding this practice” of insisting customers provide an external email address and then raided the customers’ personal contacts.
