Linking Arms Together: Residential Schools, Reconciliation and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Amnesty International is participating in a full day symposium on “Residential Schools, Reconciliation and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples” hosted by York University’s Center for Human Rights. Participants include Chief Wilton Littlechild, the Honourable Murray Sinclair, and Dr. Marie Wilson -- who are all Commissioners with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, internationally renowned Indigenous rights advocate Ellen Gabriel, Grand Chief Ed John of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and Amnesty Canada’s Campaigner for the Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Craig Benjamin.
