Lipectomy Part 1: Saw the dermatologist and she referred me - TopicsExpress

Lipectomy Part 1: Saw the dermatologist and she referred me immediately--as in I have an appointment tomorrow morning--to the surgeon. She said it absolutely cannot be frozen off because it is on the lips and very delicate and requires a surgeon to do the biopsy. She said that a) I should have insisted on being seen sooner and not have waited 3 months for my appointment (and I was all um, how would I know that? when i described what i had to your scheduler they said 3 months is the best we can do.) and b) she said You need to see the surgeon within a week at the latest, sooner if possible and walked me back to reception to make the appointment. She did also say I do not like the looks of that mole, but i cannot tell by looking at it if it is just a mole, pre-cancerous, cancerous, etc, hence the need for the biopsy sooner rather than later. So now i am actually a little bit more scared than I was. She was very nice and very concerned, and she did not seem reactionary but her comments put together add up to this could be serious. So yeah, scared. Tomorrow is another consult so hopefully i will know about when i can schedule this during my appointment tomorrow. I do realize that if this is something it is very treatable so the odds are ever in my favor for this to turn out well, but it is still nerve wracking.
