Lisa Owen with Easter one of Bill and Less rescue baby wombats. What an absolutely delightful weekend I have had with Lisa Owen, Owner and Manager at Scales Wildlife & Education Services. Lisa worked for 10 months with the Angolan Colobus in Kenya and runs a business in wildlife education and management in Brisbane. She has experience in a range of areas including wildlife relocations, ecological surveys, conservation education & training, wildlife rehabilitation & release, and staff management. She came to Braidwood to observe and discuss snake avoidance training for dogs with me. But as well as having very interesting and informative conversations in regards to inter-species communications and predator-avoidance behaviours, we visited today Majors Creek Wombat Refuge. As always, catching up with Bill and Les Waterhouse is a great delight and their dedication to saving and rehabilitating injured and orphaned Wildlife, and especially Wombats, is awe inspiring. If you want a very cute wombat calendar as a present for Christmas and support local wildlife, please contact Native Animal Rescue Group on: narg.asn.au If you are interested in wildlife & conservation education packages, information on Wildlife Rescue,Rehabilitation & Release, go to facebook/ScalesWildlifeServices I hope we will be able to welcome Lisa again soon in Braidwood.
