Listening to #RB1Debates across the country where all parties are invited of which on most cases are like debates we have le bo Phetogo Percy Bakwena Snr Odirile Letlhatshane Sonny SeriteKeakile Thabang KeakileJabu Oteng have at PennyWise or Ohagans on the background of very loud music, I get to see that BDP incumbent MPs are coming o the defensive and offering nothing new but the continuation of the current status quo. But while listening to Ramotswa debate yesterday, I did not get anything that the MPs would be doing to the constituency in general. When you look at the deplorable states of Ramotswa, Otse, Mogobane to say the least...these villages have been left behind in terms of infrastructuiarl developments, health, sports & recreation and investment opposrtunities. Otse is sitting just on the A1 which is a tranfrontier to the South that connects North-West Province but it looks like a passive village. More a pit stop with no future investments whatsoever. The days of young us having ma one-one at 1.000 Bar are over. As for Ramotswana, this is a very sad story. The village looked like it has #struggled to get proper representation since the days of Geoffrey Oteng (MHSRIP) I stayed in Ramotswa in 1992/93 during my Tirelo Sechaba days, but nothing seems to have #revolutionary changed in Ramotswa. Mokgosi & Letlapeng have and are gracing the Premier League as of now, but there are not Sporting & Recreation facilities in the village. As for entertainment, Ramotswa nearly tried to have some sort of a #SortAfter entertainment during the days of SaltnPepper days. But on the Economic side, I still fail to understand why Balete of all economic sectors are not encouraged to have a Cross Border trade in the North West Province. Kana Motswedi village of Manyane Mangope (former Bophutatswana President) is just 40km from the Ramotswana and its very abundant with Agricultural concentration. If you take it further down 150km, you land in Lietcheinburg, one of the commercial farming capitals of South Africa. As for the land issue in Ramotswa, I think govt has not been fair when they annexed Balete land in pre-independence because even Game City sits on Balete land, same as Mokolodi, Notwane Farms, Sentlhane Farms etc,. This one will need a change of Land Acts or even government. All in all, Ramotswana will remain Ramotswa...no matter who gets to be an MP.
