Listening to lots of debates about New York shutting down the charter schools. . . The thing I dont understand. . they say they want to preserve the Public School option. . and Charter schools is taking funds away from Public schools. . . . It is like in many debates when it comes to the Federal or State Government actions and programs. Lets look at the problem and then look around what is working well or not working at all. . and then ask so why is it working so well in one but not in the other. the one person said the charter school show high success as they are cherry picking the students. . . yet in New York - another lady said majority of the kids in the charter schools who are now closing down because of the law changes. . . were Black kids from the inner city and they are succeeding - test scores have dramatically improved, kids who were behind in grade level on entry to the program are caught up and many are ahead of where they were. Yet the public schools scream they need more money. . . Why not start looking at how money is spent, what standards you set for students who come to the schools, see why is it those students who were failing in public schools are now excelling in the charter school? Lets look at the cause of the positive results. . . and then see how can we take those lessons and apply them into the public school system so that the public schools can challenge parents - why go to the charter school . . look at our positive results right here. . . Show by example why a parent would want to enroll their kid in public over charter schools? Just saying. . . now back to your normal news feed. . . . rant is over for now. .
