Literacy in Papua New Guinea is defined as the ability to read, write and count with understanding. The irony that reflects this definition is the fact that many people are not still illiterate, example; at the market on Tuesday this week I gave the vendor 10kina and she gave smaller coins and notes to the sum of 10kina back to me. Off course I did not steal. I took the money and gave her back the balance.
