Little Helmsman March 16, 2014 at 05:45 I see a lot of Chinese commentators are strangely and eerily quiet about the historic significance of America’s naval power in the Pacific since the ending of WWII? Is it not a fact that the peace and prosperity provided by America’s military might in Asian waters did allow an environment from which economic prosperity did indeed took place from the free flowing, and unimpeded flow of goods and products between Asian countries and between Asian countries and North America? I think that is an irrefutable fact that China’s wumao army cannot easily ignore or dismiss. No wonder they are so quiet about this! To accept that fact on face value means a losing of Chinese commie face! Facts are so hard to hide from. This is what is great about free trade. It allows for countries to trade peacefully through commerce. Countries do not need to covet other countries’ territories in order to secure raw materials and natural resources like old days of colonialism, imperialism, and mercantilism. Countries like Germany and Japan after WWII were able to secure raw materials through international trade rather than military might…… Isn’t that a better way to old fashion land grab? But China has still not evolved into this mindset. China today reflects more like pre-WWII Japan and Nazi Germany in its desire for territorial acquisition. The world should educate China about the danger of pre-WWII mindset. International trade is better than old fashion military land grab
