Live so that when it comes your time to die, thats all you have to do. - Brother Wayne McKamie (copied from a post by, Nathan Battey) Ro 14:10 for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Ro 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: There’s a great day coming, a great day coming; There’s a great day coming by and by, When the saints and the sinners shall be parted right and left, Are you ready for that day to come? Are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready for the judgment day? Are you ready? Are you ready? For the judgment day? There’s a bright day coming, a bright day coming; There’s a bright day coming by and by. But its brightness shall only come to them that love the Lord. Are you ready for that day to come? There’s a sad day coming, a sad day coming; There’s a sad day coming by and by, When the sinner shall hear his doom: “Depart, I know you not!” Are you ready for that day to come? Mr, Will Thompson a hymnist in the 19th century wrote the above words. With at eternal view in mind the question posed is one for deep thought. How often we live each day as though we have years ahead of us. When the fact presented in song, scripture and Brother McKamie’s quote indicate quite differently. Actually we do not know when our time will come. A mentor of mine Wayne Stacener went out to shovel his driveway this morning, he was not sick. In fact one lady said he was the picture of health and had a heart attack and died in his driveway. A friend of mine who had been sick for sometime passed earlier this weekend and a lady who influenced me greatly passed also this weekend. I knew Doris Meek was sickly, I did not know James Adamson was and it had been years since I spoke with Wayne. Too my heart is breaking as Bro. George Sears suffering greatly. These were people well advanced in years but still my heart is heavy as their families are struggling. We, you and I, dear friend, have today. Like Mr. Thompson said are you ready? Life is of little import if we don’t use it as a stage to prepare for death and life after. Yes, we all have the solemn responsibility to live so that when our time comes to die that’s all we have to do. We may not have time to repent. We may not have time to obey the Gospel.
