SCERT cuts Kashmir off India map HYDERABAD 20th June 2013 In yet another controversy, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has reportedly omitted a major part of Jammu and Kashmir from the map in one of the lessons in an eighth class textbook. The issue was brought to light by the Andhra Pradesh Upadhyaya Sangham (APUS). “In a lesson about crops of India in the eighth class textbooks, the map in one of the illustrations does not have a major portion of Kashmir, including many areas bordering Pakistan,” Said Venkat Rao, general secretary, APUS. He added that his organisation took the matter to the notice of the State Project Director but no action had been taken.
