We would like to thank you for your patience during these outages. I just got off the phone with CE and the crews wanted to tell you all thank you for your concern and support as they work to resolve these issues. Crews of 25, both Airmen and civilians, have been out since 11 p.m. Tuesday night trying to fix this power problem. Some of the circuits are old and there was a lot of stress put on the grid during the last typhoon. The rain the last few nights hasnt helped matters. Safety is their first concern. The last thing anyone wants is someone getting injured trying to fix a circuit, so they make sure everyone knows all the procedures before heading out to the job. Second, because of the rain, they have to drain the manholes of water first before they can start fixing the circuits and that takes more time. They will continue to work until the problems are fixed and we will continue to pass along updates as we get them. -(ANS) HEAT STRESS Today was about 96 F. Tomorrow should be a little cooler. Please stay hydrated and watch out for heat stress. Some of the signs and symptoms of heat stress are muscle cramps, headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, paleness, excessive sweating, confusion, and extreme weakness. If you, or someone around you is experiencing these symptoms, move affected individual to cool shaded area, loosen restrictive clothing, have them sip water slowly, and seek medical attention if symptoms persist or worsen.
