Live until you die. At first the whole village thought he owned a gun ( which could have been one of biggest crime ever committed by our tribe) Second as you can imagine his life was always in danger, so he carried a long sword in his long black coat. So they thought it was the gun. When the rumors of killings began every member of our community looked to him. Many of Tutsis knew he had no gun but also had no fear. So he became their commender. To me he was our Moses without a staff in his hand, I cant even be sure how much he knew about the stories of God and Moses, but he taught us all he knew about God. At his last breath, my father was leading his small group to our neighboring country of Burundi. One and the only survivor of that team who had to see it all testified that he was a big threat to their attackers who were armed with machetes, guns and unimaginable tools to kill. Seeing that there was no other way, they started one side killing his team and he started the other side killing the enemies. When they found out that their soldiers were getting short in number, that is when they discovered that my dad had been busy. They had to take him out before he take them all out first. My mom urged me to never stop racing for my life but my Dad taught me to live until I die. Giving up is never an option,even when winning didnt appear. A big difference is not made by a big victory but a passion big enough to never give up even when you know that there will be no winning. Some time all that matters is to make sure that you live all way till you die.
