Living Well with Cancer in Doncaster Doncaster Cancer Survivors to Shape Future Support Cancer survivors and carers in Doncaster are being asked to help shape support in the area for people living with and beyond cancer. Doncaster Cancer Survivorship is a partnership between Doncaster health and social services, Macmillan Cancer Support and other voluntary organisations to improve support for cancer survivors and help them return to a normal, healthy life. More and more people are surviving cancer in Doncaster but many are finding it difficult to return to employment, manage financially and access the support they need after being discharged from hospital. The Doncaster Cancer Survivorship event on Thursday 1st August at Doncaster Racecourse from 12 until 4pm aims to build on the good progress that has already been made and move forward to the next phase. Anyone affected by cancer in the Doncaster metropolitan area is invited to attend and share their ideas and suggestions to help improve support for cancer survivors and find better ways of living with and beyond cancer. The event aims to find ways for cancer survivors to support each other, tap into resources within their communities and find new ways of working with health and social care professionals to have the opportunity to take more control. The invitation to join the event is also extended to people who work with cancer survivors, in the voluntary sector, council or NHS – please get in touch using the contact details below.
