It is also good practice to monitor the level of dissolved oxygen (DO) because this is a leading cause of corrosion. Waste and effluent systems need to be managed carefully to ensure they flow freely and dont leak. The environmental damage if pipes leaked and allowed waste to contaminate the surrounding area can be extensive, not to mention the cost of clean-up. It is the responsibility of companies to ensure their operations are as green as possible and causing as little damage. They should ensure that their effluent treatment plant (EFT) systems are operating efficiently and manage the levels of bio-fouling, corrosion and scaling in systems.
