Living in spiritual clarity or an awakened life does not mean that we lose or obliterate our old personal story and identity and adopt in its place a new, more spiritual and impersonal one. We become conscious of the fact that, on the deepest level, we are actually trans-personal. We transcend the categories of personal/impersonal. We can and will be quite personal when Life calls on us to be personal and we can transcend the personal when Life is better served through that approach. We still possess all kinds of identity, but we come to see that identity is actually quite fluid, constantly shifting and changing, dancing between the seeming opposites of emptiness and fullness, in order to skillfully accommodate Life and what Life/Reality/God is asking of us and through us in each moment.
