Lk 10:20 “Do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you; rejoice - TopicsExpress

Lk 10:20 “Do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you; rejoice rather that your names are written in heaven.” Reflection: You are probably like me; you grew up in a Christian home and were taught to believe in and love God. You probably had parents who took you to Church every Sunday and who prayed with you every day. What you probably didn’t know or fully understand was God’s purpose for your life: why did God make you? God made you to know, love and serve Him on earth by putting your gifts and talents to use to achieve your life’s purpose. Your greatest achievement at death will be that you have spent your life loving and serving God in your neighbours (Lk 10:27). Let God be the reason why you rejoice, not possessions or achievements, but God, the Giver of all good things (James 1:17). Many people claim that they will be happier if all their material needs are met. Our hunger is deeper and our satisfaction will come from beyond the material. Let your hunger lead you to God; seek Him with all your heart and seek your sustenance with humility, honesty and hardwork. Prayer: Lord, may my hunger and search for truth and meaning lead me to you, and bless the work of my hand. Today’s Readings: Job 42:1-3,5-6,12-17; Ps 119:66,71,75,91,125,130; Lk 10:17-24 The #OctoberNovena begins tomorrow with the celebration of Holy Mass. Invite everyone you know to join in.
