Locals beat a dog to death after it mauled at least 17 persons including six women of the same locality in Tethwan Pathri area of Khansahab tehsil in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Eyewitnesses told CNS that a rabid dog unleashed a reign of terror in Tethwan Pathri area and at least 17 persons were bitten by it within two hours time. After chaos and confusion, the locals cornered the stray dog and beat it to death. Locals identified some of the victims as Showkat Ahmed Ganaie, Mumina Bano, Bisma Akhtar, Zaina Bano, Shabir Ahmed, Muhammad Akbar, Abdul Razak and others. Meanwhile, in Khaipora locality of the same tehsile, stray dogs attacked some children when they were playing on the road. Local have appealed authorities to save them from the wrath of canines
