"Long I stood, staring out the ocean in the near darkness of mid nightfall. I stood and stared out at the same scene countless others have throughout time, viewing the vast expanse of the tranquil demon that is the ocean and contemplated the cowardice of men. The men who struck out upon the virgin seas did so with the ever present fear of no return, no remembrance, no glory. We, instead, stand upon the cusp of greatness and lie about in sloth, unwilling of unleashing the wellspring of innovation and advancement. We cowardly choose to defer to cults of personality and routine sameness: the tenets of a beaten and apathetic society. Therein lies the road to serfdom, but without the base element of subjugated free will. Perhaps this is the road all people are meant to walk down. Perhaps this will all end well. Perhaps: the linchpin of the unconvinced; the linchpin of the frightened"- Acedia
