Long Term Care Construction Update, as of January 20: Approximately 1,100 geo-piers were installed in preparation for placement of the concrete for the foundation. Geo-piers are a method of soil stabilization which rams aggregate into the ground in a circle approximately 30 inches in diameter and 15 feet into the ground. This creates a compacted condition and friction on the surrounding soils. And, approval has been given to begin the installation of the subgrade mechanical and electrical stub outs for utility installation and main level floor slabs. Subgrade mechanical/electrical is piping installed under the building slab in the soil. Stub outs are where this subgrade work comes out of the building and into the site. Read more at ccmh.net/LTC.
