Long long ago Lenin and Stalin claimed the USSR would bury the West in terms of production. They really did claim that communism could out produce capitalism. Later when this was seen to be an obvious falsehood the Left, through their new hero John Kenneth Galbraith, claimed capitalism produced too much and we were now becoming a "consumer" society and this was bad because it led people to wanting to buy new cars and gadgets instead of giving their money to governments for more uplifting ends. Now some Herbert called Renata Saleci says, "The liberty to choose from an unlimited number of career options or coffee brands ultimately becomes a burden. Our modern capitalist society is ruled by a "tyranny of choice."" Oh the humanity!
