Long read, mostly venting, nothing productive. Today I came home with renewed hope that Laika is still around just waiting to come home. I saw renewed flyers and signs all over the place, Im very impressed by the amount of care that GreySavers have for my precious Laika. And then I gently walked Klaxon to investigate barking. Even after being poked at today Klaxon pulled on the leash, practically running, (something he never does) right at the end of Woodward (S. of Glenties). I dont think Ive been pulled that hard before by Klaxon, ever. Then my phone went off for e-mail and as he was sniffing looked at the e-mail. It was a craigslist response from my lost greyhound post that I renewed a few hours ago. So I had James come over as Klaxon continued to pull. Eventually he pulled over to the hillside again where we spotted two eyes. It was a coyote. As a side note, I followed some peoples advise of leaving stinky food out. I think this is not the best of ideas as Mr. Coyote probably was just eating the stinky food I left out last night. The Craigslist asked if it was possible if she could make it all the way to 10801 Nassau Ave (N. of Foothill). I responded back and said absolutely and please call if he/she thought he/she spotted Laika. Ten minutes later I get a response back, was she wearing that same collar?? and I responded that she should be. At this point I headed out to that address and asked Deb for advise. After considering the neighborhood I decided to have James come with me. We went to the house, we heard whistling like a come hither for a dog and a young girl (probably 16 years old) answered. She barely kept the door open and I told her I was responded to someones response to my craigslist post. She denied that she wrote anything and I double-checked to which then a kinda pissed older woman said HOW ABOUT NO. Ill chalk it up to someone playing a very cruel prank on me. We drove home with me bawling in the passenger seat.
