Long story short, after a several hour mechanical we took off on our Intl trip. Magnificent crew went into service mode. Bev service, apps up front, bevvie in back. Cockpit calls there is a another mechanical we are going back. We are now out of duty time, exhausted and ready to go home. We safely land, deplane many disgruntled passengers, that admit great crew under these circumstances We call scheduling inform them that we are out of duty time. Their response is, do you want to continue?. Crew polled and we all say no. Scheduling misinformation us that we are only at 16:40 duty day. We correctly inform them that if we continue our duty day would be at 21:40!! They then inform us another plane will be brought from the hangar and we are to board the plane and wait for the short called crew. So we do. Now here is the legendary part, they are bringing over the catering from the other plane, nothing new!!! We tell them some meals served all casseroles cooked, bev carts already used etc. We finally convinced them to find other casseroles, but nothing else new. You know passengers did not bring their headsets, Zzz packs etc. Oh, best part, out bound crew....5!!!! It took us almost 40 minutes to get through to scheduling at 1215am and longer t get to crew tracking, back to scheduling and finally, released. This was one HUGE, ball dropped!! No backup plan, and an obvious example of $$ over people!!! Not what I would call a great family culture! Ohhh, phone ringing, Im on call!!! Do we still have the mountain hop?!
