Look into this female turkeys eye and see: she is conscious. She is thoughtful. She is alive. Non humans are not so different than us. We move in the physical world and observe its ups and downs just as vigorously as the creatures we share it with. Now look again at this turkey as she gazes into my cameras lens on her own free will. She was saved from slaughter- she was going to be killed and eaten by a human like yourself. A life extinguished to feed another life, even while alternative nourishment exists. To me, this cannot be justified. We are all beautiful living beings upon planet Earth and deserve to lead our lives freely and without harm. Coexist, with yourselves and the world around you, and you will find joy.
