Look up and listen! Scripture The heavens tell about the glory of God. The skies announce what his hands have made. Each new day tells more of the story, and each night reveals more and more about God’s power. You cannot hear them say anything. They don’t make any sound we can hear. But their message goes throughout the world. Their teaching reaches the ends of the earth. Psalms 19:1-4 Meditation Perhaps you saw the photo as it made its digital rounds via social media over the last couple of months. A NASA x-ray image showed a pulsar wind nebula, produced by the remnant of an exploding star, which was immediately dubbed the “Hand of God.” Looking like a hand with fingers outstretched and palm lifted upward, the faraway spectacle was captured by NASA’s Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array, or NuSTAR. “NuSTAR’s unique viewpoint, in seeing the highest-energy x-rays, is showing us well-studied objects and regions in a whole new light,” NuSTAR telescope principal investigator Fiona Harrison of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA said in a statement. However you may view the “Hand of God” image through your eyes of faith, you already know from today’s passage how the heavens do declare God! Whether it’s a cloud-peppered day sky or star swept night sky, it silently screams the reality of the Lord. Take time to look up and listen to what God may be saying to you. It’s sure to be glorious!
