Look who has arrived! :) It’s “Anthony” our brand new male Fennec Fox. This handsome boy has joined us to be with the beautiful female “Ayana” Found in Northern Africa, throughout the Sahara desert, Fennec Foxes are the smallest of all the foxes. They have large ears which allow them to hear exceptionally well and also thick fur on the soles of their feet. Furry paws protect against the heat and also gives the fox excellent grip on the loose sand. Ideal for living in his new home as they have under floor heating! Anthony has joined us as part of a European Breeding Studbook and is currently living beside Ayana in Animal Adventure, just for a few days so they can get used to each other. Everything looks to be going well and I will keep you all updated. I have attached two photos of Anthony taken by the keepers and one face picture of a very happy looking Ayana.
