Looking ahead to the next 10 days and it stays cold. After a messy mix of rain/sleet/snow showers over the next few days high pressure settles across the UK towards this weekend, keeping things cooler than average with the risk of some further overnight frosts and perhaps some freezing fog too, but at least initially it looks as though it will result in some sunny days. In to next week and the high pressure looks likely to remain in place across the UK, though at present it looks as though we may start to get some cloud trapped underneath the high as we head through next week so perhaps becoming less sunny, but remaining cool with the further risk of overnight frost and fog. Beyond that forecasting models are starting to back away from the idea of anything prolonged in terms of cold, with the chance as we move further in to December of something less settled developing once again and temperatures returning to average, though of course such details are still a long way away at the moment!
