Looking at these pics its a tragedy...Yes its true that the airports have savaged the british holiday but its been here a long time and not going away but Morecambe has not adjusted... in the days of these pics yes they had the holidays but today people think absolutely nothing of hopping in the car and going to the coast .. 2 years ago on the 20 something of July during school holidays we took the grandkids to Morecambe and went in Happy Mount Park.. 11am.. no trampolines no train, rides had covers on and the park was deserted and it was warm...in the car over Glasson Dock and across the wyre and through blackpool to St Annes... Paddling pool full train full mini golf full... rides full.... Its only my opinion but id rather go to St Annes with something going on...Morecambe wipes the floor with St Annes but its like saying well Morecambe is a better pub but we have no beer... so yes they all go to the other pub....How much does a damn train cost and a bit of grass and a paddling pool..until you but bait on the hook you wont have a bite.. given motorways and cars and there is a huge market out there...for 20 years you have looked at St Annes full of bodies and when you go to Morecambe, Frontierland is still the total mess it was then...Its no good whinging about Spain and doing nothing... why doesnt someone have a go with a bit of thought.The place is a lot tidier again.... just put the finishing touches to it.... and if you see Mr Blobby in town shoot the bugger.
