Looking back on the last year and all we have accomplished.. ..We started with an abandoned farm which had no fencing, no stalls, was full of scotchbroom weed on all the acreage, had junk EVERYWHERE... an old house with rotted decks, falling down gutters, a contaminated well... We now have 13 stalls, a new well, totally fenced acreage with all wood posts and electric fencing, a round pen with sand, a fenced in arena, a wash rack with heat, cleared acreage for grazing, all stalls are matted, the barn is used for hay/tractor/feed/tool storage...with soon to be a tack room/office inside. Our next project is to mud proof our paddocks.... we have been waiting on a grant, but the grant is defunded until next year... bad news ... but the de-mudding must still be done. Mud is so bad for feet and skin... we are fortunate to have big pastures for but horses who are on limited turn out... mud is not fun. We will also grade the arena... as our sand is too deep...and not safe for turn out or riding.. grading it will enable us to ride/work horses at our own farm, hold clinics and seminars which can help us to support ourselves.....the good news is the sand we remove from the arena will be used on the outside warm up area and in the blind horse paddock. We are very grateful for everyone who has helped to make this a working horse farm again! Donors, volunteers, friends, and family. We are very proud to own this farm free and clear. Our needs right now are gravel, road fabric and more gravel... followed by some serious tractor work... we may ask you to bring your tractor and join us! We are also looking for a storage container (20 to 40 feet)...this is for storage of grain, bedding and other supplies. Must be rain tight.. wood floor ... we dont care if it is pretty. Any leads appreciated. As always our needs also include hay and grain....the need for that never ends. thanks for all you do for us.
