Looking for opinions on how I should go about this situation. Keep in mind, Im 19, and I have no idea what to do about this, as this has never happened to me before. Thursday I started renting a trailer from a lady. The trailer is on her property, behind her own house. Rent is $450 and includes electric, water, cable, etc. I also put a $100 deposit down. So grand total of $550. Paid her Thursday, signed the lease which STATED she was supposed to hook up electric, cable, water, sewage. Come Friday, she would not do ANYTHING. She made my boyfriend hook up the water, and HAD NO IDEA what to do with the electric. Everytime I asked her to try and get things done, she left, or went inside and talked on her phone. Now I got the feeling she was crazy and odd, but as long as my place was taken care of, I dont care what she did. This was only gonna be for a few months because I couldnt find anywhere else that was this cheap that allowed pets. I called a friend out who is an electrician, and she told him no, get off her property, and that she would do it. She never did a THING! Not a single thing was accomplished. So, about 4 me and my boyfriend were going to get outta there. She said she wouldnt mind giving the money back, but she had to go somewhere and would be back in an hour. About two hours later, two people start banging on her door. She went to probation, didnt pass her drug test, and will be locked up for quite a while. SO, HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING MY MONEY BACK? IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE? Ive been staying with family, but my family has to be out of their house by the 4th, and that was literally, all my money. I dont know WHAT to do. This week consisted of me losing one of my jobs, my dog died, and now I lost my house and almost $600. Please, I dont need any negative comments. Im more upset than you can imagine and I just need this money back if theres any way. Not many places I can call due to it being a weekend so thought maybe there was somebody in this group that might know something helpful.
