Lord Heal Our Land 1 Timothy 2:1-2 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” The church which is the body of Christ ought to be praying for all people including politicians. So no matter if you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent or other political party we are to pray for those in public offices so that they make decisions based on God’s Word so “that we may live peaceful and quite lives in all godliness and holiness.” Your country depends on your prayers. That is exactly what the Apostle Paul says we need to do. We need to pray for our country and for those who makes the laws and regulations for what they pass effects all of our lives. Therefore, we are to pray for all public officials, whoever they are and whatever their political party maybe. We need to pray that they submit themselves to God. Because it is a well-known fact that politics is crooked, many public officials have certainly corrupted and misused their political office to put in place their own vision of the perfect government and to right the wrongs of the pass no matter the cost. Nevertheless, we ought to pray for our country and public officials so that they will turn their hearts to God and “we may live quietly and peaceably in all godliness and holiness.” Hold on to these truths my friends for it will strengthen your faith till the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
