“Lord, I ask you to help me to teach your people about spiritual warfare that does great damage to Satan’s kingdom, and great glory to your kingdom. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.” I nominate II Corinthians 10:4,5 to be the most misunderstood and misinterpreted scriptures in the bible. Many teachers have made up their own definitions of the subject, and I know of none that are correct. It is time to call God into this subject, and let Him declare what is and what is not spiritual warfare. It is absolutely necessary for this subject to be understood for any foreseeable success in the national spiritual awakening or revival of Christianity in the United States. GOD SAVE AMERICA. I am a Bible man; I fellowship with Bible men and women. I meditate in God’s word, day and night. The reason we are witnessing our nation being turned away from God is because the Church does not know how to war in the spiritual realm. Jesus commissioned the church to go into all the world and attack every belief system that existed. Beginning at Jerusalem and Judaism to Samaria, pagan Rome, and to every corner of the earth, the Church is to invade the planet with the teaching and preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every superstition, myth, theory, doctrine, opinion, bottomless pit of ignorance, deception, tradition of men, teaching, high-minded arrogance, false knowledge, hoax, or any philosophy that contradicts the Word of God, are to be confronted, refuted, and disproved. These are the strongholds of the devil. Our nation was founded upon God’s word, and a Christian consensus prevailed until the last seventy-five years. Since that time, spiritual warfare has been redefined by men. As a result, truth has fallen into the street as Isaiah prophesied (Isa. 59:14). Spiritual warfare is hand-to-hand combat (we …wrestle) (II Cor. 10:4). Spiritual warfare is destroying Satan’s lies. Spiritual warfare is not a war with people; it is a war of ideas, and it is a confrontation with the people who embrace wrong ideas. God declares that spiritual warfare is “…Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Paul said that he did not fight as one that “beateth the air” (I Cor. 9:26). He wasn’t shadow boxing or stabbing at demons; he fought with the beasts of Ephesus (I Cor. 15:32). These were not animals, but rather, men with whom he debated that resisted the gospel (Acts 19). When our president declares that “we are not at war with Islam” he only exposes the degree to which Satan has deceived him, and is being used willfully by him. We are to put on the whole armor of God, including the helmet of salvation. The helmet covers your head, your brain, your mind. When the mind is corrupted with error, there will be no spiritual victories. God is calling forth an army of warriors to take this country back for Jesus. Through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s word will prevail over all of the ignorance that floods our land today, from the White House to the school house. GOD SAVE AMERICA.
