Lost one of our pet chihuahuas today :( Gizmo - hes been an amazing dog, we got both Tico and Gizmo from the RSPCA in Slutchers Lane, Warrington about 13 years ago. He was such a nice dog, just like Gizmo from Gremlins, which is why we called him Gizmo (he had the same markings and personality). He started to get dementia a few years ago, and over time has been gradually getting worse. He was still enjoying life, up until the past few days he went totally off his back legs. Took him to the vets this afternoon and the vet explained to us that unfortunately what is going on is all mental, and they have no magic wand that they can wave to make it better. Gizmo was absolutely stressing out, and we decided it was unfair to have him in this state any longer. Before we had him put to sleep he went to see the small garden at the vets, and had a sniff of the river, whilst I went to get my sister to say goodbye to him. Many thanks to Teme Veterinary Practice for all their help during this hard time. RIP Gizmo - 2001-2014. Thank you for the many fantastic and enjoyable years youve given us. His brother Tico is still fine.
