Lost opportunity! Shangri-La Dialogue is a huge opportunity for Vietnam to make a big statement and get International attentions and allies. Unfortunately, with a weak speech, we hardly get any international coverage. And when we did get some, its like this (sad): ...The Vietnamese Defense Minister, Gen. Phung Quang Thanh, told the conference on Saturday that since China’s installation of the oil rig in disputed waters a month ago he had telephoned his counterpart and other Chinese leaders asking for a meeting, or the dispatch of a special envoy, or a telephone call or even a letter to enable negotiations on a way out of the crisis. “China is considering these calls,” he said... We should have our PM there instead! P/S: to the Vietnamese leaders, if you speak for the Nation, its OK to be cool, calm and collected, but dont EVER portray us as cowards!!! Because we are not! Fearless and Piece out!
